Tuya Smart (NYSE: TUYA), a global IoT development platform service provider, received a cybersecurity testing report based on NISTIR 8259A series from TÜV SÜD, a leading global service provider of auditing, testing, and certifications. This latest testing report is part of Tuya Smart’s continued commitment to being industry-leading in IoT cybersecurity.
Developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (“NIST”), NISTIR 8259 is a foundational U.S. standard for IoT device manufacturers and service providers, and one of the most comprehensive and widely accepted roadmaps available to protect customers from increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats. It covers six cybersecurity-related activities for device manufacturers including device identification, device configuration, logical access to interfaces, software and firmware update, and regulates IoT device cybersecurity capabilities. The report was issued for Tuya Smart’s CBU module, providing these cybersecurity capabilities to its business customers and smart devices using Tuya’s CBU module.
Tuya has taken a comprehensive approach to security by partnering with independent security institutes to design and implement secure product solutions for customers. Obtaining the NISTIR 8259 attestation of conformity further strengthens Tuya Smart’s products and solutions, adding to a well-rounded set of industry-standard requirements for both the EU and U.S.
Tuya has also been awarded the EU ETSI IoT Security standards by TÜV SÜD. Its new IoT security module WBR3 obtained TÜV SÜD’s ETSI EN 303 645 evaluation and Attestation of Conformity.
Looking ahead, Tuya Smart will continue to work with world-leading assessment firms like TÜV SÜD to promote certification and marking services in Tuya’s ecosystem. Partnerships with TÜV SÜD include ETSI EN 303 645(EU) testing, GDPR(EU) compliance data protection assessments, NISTIR 8259(USA) test reports and AoC, CLS labels (Singapore), vulnerability scanning, and more advance pentesitng. This partnership will promote security throughout the product lifecycle and create a robust foundation for efficient safety certifications for Tuya’s customers.
